Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT)

TKT is suitable for new or experienced teachers working in language centres or in compulsory education. Teachers will gain an increased knowledge and awareness of good practice, and a globally accepted qualification.

TKT formally recognises teaching experience, builds confidence and update skills. It offers a flexible set of five modular tests, which build a foundation in the core areas of knowledge and practice needed for English language teaching. TKT is at Foundation to Developing stages on the Cambridge English Teaching Framework (www.cambridgeenglish.org/tkt).

Key Facts:

Suitable Candidates	Pre-service or in-service teachers teaching at different levels
Assessment:	Modular tests which consist of 80 multiple choice questions and takes 80 minutes per module.
Grades:	Band 1 to 4 (4 is the highest), no pass/fail
Test format:	Paper based
